We had a great extended holiday weekend down at Daughter #2’s
apartment. Had a great time and of
course ate too much! Why does everything
seem to involve food? What party or
event did you last attend that didn’t include food?
We ate at a local favorite, Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlour and
had ice cream sundaes the size of your head!
The place was hopping, had a waiting line to get in, but it was worth
the wait. Fun experience
Saw the fireworks show from her apartment balcony, so we
didn’t have to deal with the traffic or the crazy crowds. Got a bit of shopping in, and otherwise relaxed
and played some trivia which we all enjoyed especially Grannie.
One thing we learned about our family, too many chiefs and
no Indians makes for an interesting weekend!

I miss South Florida, it's been 11 years since I've been back. There's probably all kinds of changes.

We didn't get to visit the beach, we figured since it was a holiday weekend, it would be too packed. We've been gone about 9 years now, and there's a lot of changes for sure. Unfortunately, we saw more blight. A building once a hospital now unused, windows missing, etc. Right at the Glades interchange. We saw some construction, old malls torn down and some new construction beginning (Palm Beach Mall). Freeway system is also different, you now have to pay for the fast lane.
