Something is Missing

OK, it’s the holiday season.  I’m having a hard time getting into it this year.  Not sure exactly why.  Maybe since we’ve had a tough year at The Compound and business is slow.  Is it the economy stupid?  I need to find my Christmas “mojo”.  Have you seen it?  Any ideas where it hid itself?

I’ve been baking cookies, decorated the house (although not as much as in years past), play Christmas tunes when I get the chance, and try to sing along.  It's not working. Something is definitely missing.

  1. Izzy,

I'm feeling the same way, and I can't find my way out of this rut. I haven't decorated my house yet, or played any holiday music. Several nights back, I did however make a few Christmas gifts by hand. Maybe tomorrow I'll get them in the mail.

Hang in there, things will get better.

    1. Sandy,

I'm glad I'm not alone. Maybe when the kids come home, I'll feel differently.

    1. Matt,

The Xmas tunes just aren't doing it for me this year. Maybe its the warm weather we're having in central Florida. Although I pray for that to continue so I can harvest from the garden. Last year we froze out by now.

  3. You are definitely not alone. The only decorations I've put up are a wreath on the front door of the City House & that silly snowman at the Country House. Only a couple of gifts bought. I have been listening to Christmas music on the way to & from work. May bake a few cookies this weekend.

    1. First of all, he's not a silly snowman. He's a "fat bottomed" snowman, and if they're anything like the "fat bottomed" girls they (Queen) sang about, he makes the rock'in world go round...

  4. I know how you feel. Though I know what's missing in my life. Bless you.

I know too what you are missing and I continue to say prayers.
