Black Bellied Whistling Duck. Closer in relation to geese than
a duck. They waddle a bit, heads are definitely
duck like, but they do not quack. We had
a flock join us on Saturday, and as they flew in, it was a showdown at The
Compound! Just look at these
characters. I think the ducks would win. The
Cotton Club is a bunch of chicken, chickens!
I hope you can hear the sound the ducks make, it’s really
strange. They spent around an half hour
or so, digging in the wet areas of The Compound.
Couldn't hear their quack but interesting birds. Looks like you still have a little breeze there. Left over from Sandy?
ReplyDeleteYes, we still had a strong wind through yesterday, 10/30. That may have been why it was hard to hear them. The wind was overtaking the mic. I also need to use my video camera, instead of my still camera for video. Better quality. I just never seem to have it on hand when I need it.
DeleteI hope they were eating those damn Fire Ants !
ReplyDeleteMy lower legs and ankles look like a teenagers pimple factory...bet yours do too lol.
LOL is right! I escaped the fire ant torture this weekend. Although the Moose has a few on his ankles. I think we should rename the snake boots, fire ant boots. With those on, there's no issue...
