We test fired the outdoor pizza oven this past Saturday. We took the leap of faith and invited friends and family out, and had a friendly competition for best crust and best pizza. We had a blast planning and preparing. The oven worked like a charm, and we got better after each pizza, learning how the oven operated, hot spots, etc. I'll let the pictures do the talking, see below;

Hawaiian Pizza |

What was left of the Hawaiian, after too quick a move. Winner of overall best crust. |

Buffalo Chicken Pizza, winner overall best pizza. |

Choc. Chip Smore Cookie Pie |

Rustic peach and raspberry tart
Need I say more?!

Yum! what's in the cookie pizza?
ReplyDeletechoc chip cookie dough on the bottom, they call for 1 tube of premade. I made my own. followed by 1/2 cup graham crackers crushed and 1/2 cup crushed Hershey's choc. I added more of course, and then topped it with marshmallows. so easy it's silly.
DeleteAll of them look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThey were. As soon as I get a chance, I'll gather the recipes and post them.
DeleteAll right ! Just right and on time. My appetite is coming right along seeing these pics. Going to take awhile ta get used to the "thermostat" settings I'll bet. Looks like you did fairly well though.
ReplyDeleteNext up, the solar heated Hot Tub/ Bathtub/ Sauna/Evap Water maker...
We'll be sure to invite you guys soon. When are we getting together next? Are you getting around OK?
DeleteI'm doing very well and have been going for quarter mile walks. So whenever ya'll wanna have a get together is fine with me. Got nothing but time right now lol. Just don't ask me to lift right at the moment.
DeleteHi, we're looking at a pizza oven and trying to talk with someone that has used theirs for a while- are you still happy with the oven? Any concerns? Does it hold the heat well? Enjoyed your blog and thanks for sharing.

Dave,
DeleteYes, we are very happy with the oven. We still have to finish the outside, but it works like a charm. The family really enjoys it.
It makes an awesome pizza as well as venison stew, and pork loin!
It did take a bit of ingenuity, as some of the pieces didn't fit together completely snug, so extra heat mortar was needed. It also needs A LOT of muscle. It's not a light weight look a like.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply, can't wait to get started on our project, hopefully in a couple of months.
